The Hart-Throbs

I think intermural volleyball starts this week! We've officially (I think) turned in our application to play this morning. Our name, if you couldn't guess, is the Hart-Throbs (we all live in Hart Hall...so clever, I know). There are 10 of us, 8 girls from the floor and 2 guys that we convinced to play before telling them that the team colors were hot pink and black. Whoops. =) I'm excited. I know we're not going to be great (we've admitted this to ourselves already), but we're gonna have a great time.

I've started my older adult project, too. I am meeting with a 94-year old man once a week on Monday afternoons to talk about his life and what he's experienced in it. The point of the project (10 weeks) is that we learn how to communicate with an older generation through hearing their life stories and daily routines. It'll be hard because I know that the man I'm interviewing is lonely and I can't fix it. I also know that this project is going to be a great learning experience for me about how I can't fix everyone's problems. Ironic, yes?

Anyway, short and sweet blog today. Off to read.
