Tidbits of life...to be expounded upon later.
- Almost finished with Older Adult rotation. I went to an older adult gym class tonight, "Get Fit With George." Note to self/anyone else: just because everyone is over 65 does not mean that they don't seriously work out in fitness classes. I'm tired!
- I went to Mexico on October 18. Our nursing program runs a clinic in Cerro Azul, about 45 minutes into Mexico through Tecate. I was helping the midwife assess the pregnant women at the clinic, dunno if it's my cup of tea, but I heard a lot of baby heartbeats!!!
- Had the Torrey Memorial Bible Conference last week, Wednesday-Friday. Classes are canceled and we attend up to 10 sessions (required to be at 8). It was a great conference overall. More on that later.
- Had a photo shoot with the group of girls that are close on my floor. More info later on that, too. See below for a teaser.
- I am no longer sick! I got a bad cold for about a week and a half the beginning of October and thought it was going to send me to the doctor...but no, I'm stubborn and won the battle.
- Attended a memorial service for one of my congregational nursing clients. She was in her early 90s when she passed, but the memorial service yesterday was beautiful. It was a celebration of her life, truly. I spent time with her only twice, but she sounded like an absolutely amazing and faithful woman. It was the only memorial service I've been to where no one cried from mourning. The tears were from laughter and memories.
- Am going to Disneyland on Friday for a couple of hours to take advantage of my pass! Finally.
- Am currently finishing a legislative paper for nursing. I'm researching blood pressure cuffs and how they can contribute to hospital-acquired infections. It's supposed to be 5-7 pages...due Monday. Eeek.
- I'm so looking forward to home for Thanksgiving. I'm ready. It's been a long time and I miss home a lot.
- I'm going to sleep now. It's almost 12:30 AM (I know, I know).
Much love.
PS Here's a picture that we took. It's not the best one, you'll see that one later. My roommate is bottom left, brownish hair and big grin. She's amazing.
