what's shakin'

We had an earthquake!!! I'm sitting on my bed with my computer trying to get homework done when all of a sudden I just sort of find myself leaning noticeably to the side. In my head, I think: "Was that an earthquake?" at the same time as this conversation takes place on our hall (my door is open):

Emily (walking out of her room): "Am I going crazy -"
Jenna (at the same time as me, cutting Em off before she finishes): "I felt it, too!"
Me: "Earthquake!"

By this time, the three of us are standing in the hallway telling each other what we were doing when the big one (which was all of 3.7) struck. At the end of the hall (very long hall, by the way), two other girls are standing in the hallway with blank expressions on their faces, to which I replied: "Yep! It's an earthquake!"

In other news, I am currently apartment or house hunting for next year. We found out yesterday that we didn't get a Biola apartment in the lottery and, unless we live in the dorms again, are homeless as of May 26 until we find somewhere to go.

Ugg.

This isn't a welcome kink in an already hectic part of the semester. There are 4 of us, maybe 6 that need a place. With different personalities approaching the situation, different financial needs, different opinions, and different communication styles - it's even worse. I have confidence that we'll find somewhere, but the stress hasn't gone away. A friend (a long time ago) offered a place in her apartment in Fullerton, but it's a 20 minute drive and a bit more expensive for me. Plus, I don't know if I can leave the others high-and-dry.

I repeat: Ugg.

New subject:

Our critical care rotation started today. One patient died, I gave report during rounds and was cut off by a moody MD (good Dr, bad day), and I got to learn about ventilators.

What a week.

I'm off to dinner soon, then homework. Pictures of the trip will go up soon, I hope.
