"The Last Time We Have a First Day of School"

So, for me and my nursing major self, the quote: "The Last Time We Have a First Day of School" is false. I'll be around Biola for another year. However, for most of my senior friends, there remains truth in the statement. We've all become a bit more sentimental recently, seeing as how so many will be graduating in 117 days (not that anyone's counting). We've done many of the "This is the last time we'll walk up to the caf on the last day of interterm!" and "This is the last time we'll see so many boxes in the hallway until graduation!" It's become a joke to see who can come up with the funniest "Last first time" quote.

But, tomorrow is the first day of the semester...my THIRD to last first day of the semester.

Today, as a celebration, we got dressed up and went out to dessert. We attempted The Cheesecake Factory in Brea, but laughed and walked right back into the parking lot upon learning of the 2 hour + wait. We ended up just as happy at the Red Robin down the street with ice cream sundaes (it was also significantly cheaper, SCORE!).

During dessert, we presented our "Bucket List" contribution. Each of the 12 of us have one thing we want to do before the 117 days are up and people leave Biola. A few of our ideas: going to Santa Monica and taking pictures of each of us riding the ferris wheel, riding the metro into downtown LA and going to the flower market, roasting marshmallows in the campus firepit (mine), making scones and watching a movie in our PJs on a Saturday, and climbing Half Dome.
It will be a glorious semester.

On the class side, I'll be busy. Besides nursing, I'm taking two classes which I am INCREDIBLY excited about: The Church and AIDS in Africa & Contemporary Apologetics in Postmodern Culture. I'll update more when I actually go to those classes and learn more about them. =)

But, for now, I'm going to turn off my computer. We're pranking our brother floor's RA who will be doing rounds on our hall at 11 and we need to build an obstacle course.

With Love,
Lisa
