some training required.

I didn't train at all for the Mud Run. I had great intentions to do this - but it just never happened. I ran a few times since being back here, but working in the morning, I didn't want to get up earlier than I had to so that I could make it to the gym and then back. Evenings have been busy, too. I plan too much. My fault. I'm hoping to get into a schedule for running - seeing as how I'll admit my pride was down a few notches when I held up the friends I was running with today.

BUT

All this to get to the main point: I had sooooooo much fun today overall. Besides being frustrated at my own lack of capabilities with running, it was great. When else do you get to participate in an obstacle course in the mud with thousands of other people?! Seriously. Grand memories.

I didn't get to get pictures of the course itself (bummer), but Ash and Dan took a couple while we were running it and then met us afterward to get some pictures, too. It was wonderful having them support us.

Here are the pics we have from afterward. We were muddier, but at the last part, there was someone with a hose spraying us as we went past. It was definitely a warm one this afternoon.

My legs were nice and caked with mud - and a few nice battle scars. How am I always the only one who gets hurt? Really now. I have cuts on both my knees and down my right shin. I've gotten them with peroxide, scrubbed them, and will do round 2 of "operation disinfect" soon. My nursing self is overly concerned about all the sand, mud and dirty water from today still inside of them. EW. But, hey, it means there's proof that I've had adventure, yeah? =)

Anyway, much love to you all!
